Shell-and-Tube Condensers
Water-cooled refrigerant condenser enquiries for chillers, process refrigeration and existing-equipment replacement. We review refrigerant service, total heat-rejection duty, circulating-water conditions, construction and maintainability.

Thermal duty and condenser-water conditions
The condenser must reject the evaporator cooling duty plus compressor heat input; nominal refrigeration tonnage alone does not define condenser duty. Confirm refrigerant, total heat rejection, condensing temperature/pressure, cooling-water entering/leaving temperatures, fluid flow and permitted pressure loss.
Applications and configurations
- New water-cooled chiller and industrial refrigeration condenser packages.
- Replacement condenser matching to an existing equipment schedule, nameplate and site connection arrangement.
- Application-specific construction for process water, marine or corrosive conditions where confirmed available.
- Condenser-water system review together with cooling towers, pumps and filtration.
Mechanical design and maintenance
Specify design pressures on refrigerant and water sides, tube/shell materials, fouling allowances, connection orientation, overall dimensions, drain/vent arrangements, service clearance and tube-cleaning access. Removable-bundle options, coatings and non-standard materials require manufacturer confirmation.
Quotation information
- Condenser heat-rejection duty in kW, refrigerant and required condensing conditions.
- Cooling-water fluid, temperatures, flow, water quality and fouling allowance.
- Allowable hydraulic pressure losses and operating/design pressure ratings.
- Existing unit photograph and nameplate, dimensions, nozzle arrangement and mounting details.
- Required pressure-vessel code, test reports, inspection and project documentation.
Product availability, operating performance, dimensions, materials, approvals and documentation are confirmed against the selected manufacturer’s technical offer.
