Cold Storage & Process Refrigeration

Cold Storage, Freezing & Processing-Plant Refrigeration

Industrial refrigeration equipment enquiries for chilled and frozen storage, food-production lines, processing halls and temperature-controlled utility systems. EVAPNEX can help customers define refrigeration duty, select suitable equipment categories and develop an enquiry with manufacturing partners. Final plant engineering, site installation, commissioning and local safety approvals require appropriately qualified project contractors.

Cold Rooms & Refrigerated Warehouses

Cold-storage projects may require separate cooling zones for chilled goods, frozen products, loading areas and staging rooms. The room temperature alone is not enough to size equipment: product loading, pull-down time, door traffic, insulation, defrost, humidity and operating profile all contribute to the required duty.

Blast Freezing & Product Pull-Down

For suitable food-processing applications, rapid product cooling and blast-freezer duties call for careful review of the product mass, entry/exit temperatures, freezing or chilling time, air movement, evaporating temperature and defrost arrangement. Availability of suitable compressor packages, air coolers and refrigerant equipment is checked project by project.

Food & Agriculture Applications

Dairy, Meat & Poultry Processing

Production plants may need chilled process water or glycol, cold rooms and temperature-controlled processing areas. Dairy operations can involve distinct milk-reception, production and finished-product cooling loads; meat and poultry facilities also require process-specific temperature and hygiene controls.

Fruit, Vegetables & Ripening Rooms

Fresh-produce storage and designated ripening or maturation rooms require temperature, humidity, airflow and ventilation conditions appropriate to the product and process. Refrigeration plant and air-cooling equipment should be selected against a documented storage or maturation schedule.

Processing-Hall Air Conditioning

Food-production halls may use chilled-water or glycol systems to address process heat, working-area temperature and moisture loads. Chillers and associated heat exchangers are reviewed against actual airside requirements and any washdown or hygiene constraints.

Machine & Industrial Process Cooling

Equipment such as process machinery and manufacturing lines may require a dedicated chilled-water or glycol loop with stable temperature and suitable flow. The heat-load profile, permitted water quality, redundancy and interfaces with existing plant determine the equipment enquiry.

Typical Refrigeration Equipment for Enquiry

  • Industrial screw-compressor and process-chiller packages where a matching manufacturer offering is available.
  • Air-cooled or water-cooled refrigeration condensers, evaporative condensers and closed-circuit coolers.
  • DX and flooded shell-and-tube evaporators, shell-and-tube condensers and plate-type exchangers.
  • Falling-film ice-water and glycol equipment for suitable food and process-cooling duties.
  • Cold-room air coolers and associated heat-exchange components, subject to available supplier range.
  • Heat-recovery and hot-water heat-pump systems for facilities with simultaneous cooling and heating demand.

Technical Information to Start a Project

  • Application, room or process description; product type, mass or throughput and operating schedule.
  • Target room or process temperatures, incoming product temperature, desired pull-down time and humidity requirements.
  • Cooling duty if known; chilled-water or glycol flow and supply/return conditions where relevant.
  • Refrigerant preferences and any constraints applicable to ammonia or other refrigerant systems.
  • Site ambient and utility conditions, electrical supply, existing system drawings, spare capacity and redundancy requirements.
  • Project country, applicable codes, equipment-only or wider-scope enquiry, and responsible installation contractor.

A supplier quotation does not itself establish system compliance or equipment suitability: the selected model, refrigerant safety, pressure design and site integration must be reviewed for the installation.
